Janhvi Kapoor's film 'Gunjan Saxena - The Kargil Girl' is in constant controversy. The film has been accused of trying to tarnish the image of the Air Force. The Air Force has also complained about this to the Censor Board. Now retired wing commander Namrita Chandi, who served with Gunjan Saxena in the Indian Air Force, said that many of the things shown in the film are lies.
Namrita Chandi has questioned the film through an article. He wrote, 'I myself have also worked as a helicopter pilot and I have never faced such abuse as portrayed in the film. In fact, the men in uniform are true gentlemen and professionals. ' She writes that I have trained with Gunjan Saxena and have seen each other in the worst of circumstances.
Namrata Chandi has blamed Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and the authors for this. He agrees that in the beginning, 'there were problems of not having a room or a women's toilet but at no point did he feel uncomfortable. Some of his officers 'brothers used to guard him while changing clothes.'
Namrita has accused the filmmakers of lying. He wrote, 'Srividya Rajan was the first female pilot to fly from Kargil and not from Gunjan. However, I am confident that Srividya has no complaints about this credit.
Namrata citing her own credentials, wrote, 'I myself am the first female officer who flew on the international border with Pakistan in 1996. I believed every officer who was sitting with me in the crew room. I was the first female pilot to be stationed in Leh and fly Cheetah helicopters at Siachen Glacier. ' Namrata wrote a message to Janhvi Kapoor, "Never do a film like this again if you are a proud Indian woman."
